Another of Florida's great state parks. Small and quiet with several hiking trails, water views, boat ramp, and numerous pavilions for large groups. Very well maintained with a constant presence of park volunteers and ranger patrols. Narrow roads that might present a problem for the largest of motorhomes/trailers. We had a pop up so there were no issues. Four sites are ADA and concrete. Several that are gravel. Most are sand. It rained heavily during our first day and the sand stuck to everything. At the same time the sand allowed for the water to quickly drain away. Would like to see the park gravel all the remaining sites. That's the only reason I couldn't give a "10" rating. Park rangers were friendly and helpful. Seemed to enjoy what they do. They sell ice at the ranger station. That was great since we ran out. Signs throughout the park warning of alligators but we tried and failed to find any. Little kids were swimming right next to the largest gator warning sign that boldly stated "No Swimming". They all survived. The most threatening animal we saw was a hungry squirrel. Sites are mostly shaded but the sun will angle through and get you part of the day. The town of Niceville offers numerous restaurant choices and you're not very far from Destin as well. We didn't use the dump station but it's location in the middle of the campground is odd. If you are in site 37 thru 42 you will have to exit the camping loop, come back in, and circle all the way around again. This is the oddest placement of a dump station I have ever seen. Not a huge deal...just different. Overall, a really great campground and one that proves Florida has the best state parks in the nation.

The new loop is now open and is very nice. Full hook-ups too. Not much shade since they cleared out a lot of trees putting in the new sites. Nice hard surfaced road there too. However, we camped in the old loop. The no sewer hook-ups, gravel road, and some very small sites. None of this was an issue for us as we knew going in what to expect. Our popup could fit in even the smallest of sites. The sites in the old loop are gravel unless you get one of the few ADA concrete sites. The park was very quiet except for a couple people with yappying dogs. Not a huge issue though. The old loop is best suited for tents and popups and there were plenty on this trip. The only issue we had, and the reason I rated Grayton a 7, was the cleanliness of the bathhouse. Whoever was assigned to clean must not have had their heart in it. The trash was emptied daily but the sinks had the same dead bugs, spiders, and human hair in them all 3 days we were there. This was the first time we experienced this at a FL state park. However, this will not keep us from going back. The park is in a great location for biking to some of the nice local communities.

I'll start with a couple negatives to get them out of the way. The restrooms were not maintained very well during our 3-day stay. It was Labor Day weekend and the place was packed but the staff could have better anticipated the enormous amount of foot traffic through the bathrooms. They were pretty dirty the entire weekend. Also, the air conditioners in the bathrooms are terribly inadequate and you begin sweating the moment you emerge from the showers. Now for the good stuff. This is an extremely nice state park. We were in one of three tent-only sites and had so much privacy. Our site could not even be seen from the road. In front of us was the lagoon. We could sit at our site and watch boats and dolphins pass by. Florida's heat and humidity were pretty brutal but a couple of box fans in the tent helped greatly at night. The campground was pretty quiet at night considering the large number of people. The only noise issue was with someone who let their dog bark for over an hour. The campground's location puts you very close to many restaurants and activities in PCB. We ate dinner at Capt Anderson's which is only a couple miles from the park. Very good but a little on the pricy side. Overall, St Andrews is a must-do campground. I almost hate to say that because it will make it harder to get reservations. But everyone should experience this place at least once.

This park is a gem. Everything about our weekend at Blackwater River S.P. was excellent. The site was spotless upon our arrival. The restrooms were the cleanest we've ever seen in a campground be it private or state. This is a small park so traffic was rare. Children ran around enjoying themselves during the day but there was absolute peace at night. We brought our kayaks, as did many other campers, and enjoyed a slow, 8 mile trip from Bryant Bridge to the north ending at Deaton Bridge in the park. The river is marked letting you know when you're entering the state park. We encountered many groups with tubes, canoes, and kayaks and everyone was friendly. The beaches along the river (including the ones associated with the park) are white sand and perfect for a day in the water. The camp host (Bill) is to be commended for his work in keeping Blackwater one of the nicest state parks we've visited. Looking forward to the completion of the trail bridge so it can be reopened to the public. As I sit typing this review I'm trying to think of anything that might be considered a negative. I'm at a loss.

This park never disappoints. We camp here often but wanted to post a review again. The Rangers need to be commended for their work in running this outstanding campground. We wanted to attend "Breakfast With A Ranger" Saturday morning but when we got there the place was packed. Standing room only. Seems everyone wanted to eat with a Ranger. We ended up going down the street to The Donut Hole, which is also good. Constructions is ongoing but we never heard anything. Probably not working the weekend. As always, a great time at Topsail.

I agree with almost all of the previous reviewer's comments about this campground except for the noise. For the most part it is quiet. However, there's a lady who appears to be a long-time resident who won't control her dog. She has two dogs: one is kept inside her motorhome and the other is tied up outside 24 hrs a day, every day. This mutt barks at everything and everyone and is a constant problem. The owner does nothing about it. She lets the dog bark non-stop. Numerous campers made comments to us during our stay that the campground host refuses to take action because she is friends with the dog owner. I don't see why they tolerate it. Complaints should be made to the base commander if the host won't take action. We were only there for a short time but would definitely file a formal complaint if we were long-termers like some of the others there. This shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Not open to the general public. This park is limited to people with a military affiliation. The campground is small but provides a nice place to stay long-term or when passing through the area. Close to all sorts of shopping. It's associated with Langley AFB but is not physically on the base. It is part of the Bethel Recreation Area off Saunders Rd or Big Bethel Rd. Many tall trees make satellite tv reception all but impossible. Approximately 10 tv stations are available with your tv antenna, however. Very quiet during the week. Some increase in campground traffic on weekends due to proximity of the base-owned paintball field and Bethel Rec Area next door. All campground advertisements mention the dump station but fail to point out that sewer hookups are also available at each site. Langley security police patrol the c.g. several times per day. The host couple is very nice and always available via cell phone when not in the office. There are posted rules but everyone is treated like an adult and left alone to govern themselves. I have not seen or heard of any problems. Nothing fancy about this c.g. but if you're credentials permit you to stay here you'll probably be very satisfied with the inexpensive experience. $18/day or $485/mo.

This campground will soon become a member's only resort. Staff is great. This c.g. tries very hard to offer its guests plenty. Free putt-putt, nice pool, Friday night outdoor movies, Saturday night bingo, nice chapel for Sunday morning service, etc. The lake is actually a bit disappointing. Throughout the lake you can see cut off trees sticking a couple of feet out of the water. You can only boat around the extreme perimeter. Even though the staff tries to make the grounds presentable, some long-term residents detract from the overall appearance with run-down trailers. Sites are very close together. Noticed that some rules were not being followed by some residents especially with regard to alcohol use away from their site. I would classify this place more of a trailer park than an actual resort. I'm glad we checked it out but I would not go back...and would never buy a membership.

Very disappointed. This campground is not big rig friendly though you won't hear that when talking to them on the phone when making reservations. There are a few sites that will accommodate big rigs but you have to be lucky to get one of those. The only level spot in the campground is the small parking lot in front of the office. The entire campground is either on an incline or decline. Sites are not level. Roads are very narrow and made of gravel and dirt. Some of the sites are so narrow you have to choose between putting out your slides or awning...but not both. There is an additional charge for everything. You have to pay extra to use the dump station. They even charge if you have a guest visit you during the day. The electrical grid needs updating badly. Voltage was very low during our entire stay. Right on Hwy 27 so you get the full effect of the road noise. The only reason I did not rate this campground a "1" is because the staff was friendly and it's close to Callaway Gardens.

Stopped at the office to check in only to find the front door locked. The office is all glass so I could easily see the elderly lady sitting at the desk. She just stared at me sort of sizing me up. I honestly believed she wasn't going to let me in. She eventually worked her way to the door and slowly unlocked it. I could tell she was very nervous at first but eased up a little as we talked. She struck me as very paranoid or very afraid to be left in the office by herself. We were assigned site R2 which is unacceptable if you want to use your awning. Only about 2 feet of room on awning side of trailer. The site is very narrow and barely accommodated our slideout on the opposite side. There are only 13 RV sites in this campground. The rest are tent sites. We have a 35' trailer and found the roads way too narrow. Tree branches scraped the trailer on every turn, and there are many turns in this small campground. We didn't even use the dump station since it looked like too much of a hassle trying to maneuver into it. Whoever designed this campground is probably not an RV'er since it is not RV friendly. The second day we were there my wife went to the office to get a campground map. Again, the lady had herself barricaded in the office with the door locked. I just don't get it. Will not stay there again as it was not an enjoyable experience.

We stayed for a week and really enjoy this campground. Lots of shade trees and enough room between sites so you don't feel too close to your neighbors. A lot of seasonals but the campground does not look trashy in any way. The seasonals seem to take pride in keeping their sites attractive. A bit of a drive to get to the tourist attractions in Shipshewana, Middlebury, etc. Very dark and quiet at night...great for sleeping. There were a lot of other campers there but we did not experience even one instance of unacceptable noise. Cable hookups would have been nice. I recommend this campground.

We stopped for a quick overnight stay while enroute to our destination. The campground is out in the middle of nowhere. Very little shade. The section where we stayed was all grass and mostly level. Nothing to separate you and your neighbor. A lot of seasonal or very long term campers as a lot of the sites had storage structures. The campground is good for a day or two but we would not want to stay there as a destination campground. The staff was very nice.
